Dear Friends of Carson House,

Even though our restaurant is now closed, I want you to continue having great dining experiences every time you go out. For that reason, I want to personally recommend that you visit our friends in Winnsboro. The quality of the food is reflected in the many awards won in the County Line Magazine annual "Best of the Upper East Side of Texas" reader survey.

In the historic downtown district you'll find Double C Steakhouse, which won Best Steak in 2009 and Best Chicken Friend Steak in both 2008 and 2009. The Cason family serves up generous portions of down-home cooking and country ambiance.

Cibo Vino Italian won best restaurant in 2008 and Best Pizza in 2008 and 2009. Rick Murray creates signature dishes for diners who return again and again. Plus, he will give you a complimentary glass of wine free with your meal. He also opened CiboBQ this year at the other end of the block, which features classic brisket, ribs and sausage cooked over a wood fire.

Brewbaker's Pub, owned by Jeff Heath, is in the location previously occupied by the famous Winnsboro Bakery. A cozy pub is now in the back room, which complements the redesigned main dining area. Brewbaker's won the Best Sandwich award in 2009. The Winnsboro Bakery breads and award-winning desserts are now made in a separate location and sold at Brewbaker's.

Art & Espresso won the Best Coffee award for 2009. The coffee shop serves breakfast and lunch, and at night caters to the after-dinner crowd with gourmet coffee specialties and desserts.

A&E, Double C and Brewbaker's regularly feature live music to make your evening more enjoyable.
