The Carson House has always attracted my eye when visiting my mother in Pittsburg , TX . Therefore, my husband and I had to invite ourselves into this very nostalgic, elegant and relaxing setting. The rooms, service, and food were impeccable and when we visit Pittsburg again, it's the Carson House. Thank you, Clark and staff, for a magnificent stay! ~ Martha Acker Lorenz
We needed to get away. Didn't want to travel too far from home. Needed peace and quiet.
Required hospitality, privacy, to be taken care of and to be fed well.
Carson House - met every requirement and then some!
After spending the Holidays with family we needed this so much! To be alone and to
be catered to was such a blessing. Our first night we ate in the restaurant and Tony was the perfect host! Catered to our every whim.
The meal was exquisite - I AM NOT EXAGGERATING! You must try the homemade grain bread (hot out of the oven drizzle the house herb oil, top with a tomato, and drizzle more of the oil) Magnifico! Giada could not do any better!
We have stayed at some of the finest Bed and Breakfast's in the country and I must say
that Carson House sleeps you as well as the $400 a night B&B's - the most comfortable
sheets and mattresses we have experienced.
Now, on to the Breakfast - you see we Italians tend to focus on the food and when a meal is prepared well - we get excited! We have never been to a B&B where the menu
allows for you to be selective based on your own preferences and then if you want to add
additional ingredients Chef Clark is more than happy to oblige! He created for me what I named the Omelette Bella! (Italian for Beautiful Omelette). caramelized onions, bell peppers, fresh pepper, garlic, swiss cheese, fresh spinach and topped with feta (you can visualize the true italian at this point taking his fingers and bringing them to the lips and saying "Perfetto". Which also describes our stay at the "Carson House"

Thanks to Clark , Tony, and the whole staff for making us feel like family. What a great Bed and Breakfast! We ate at the restaurant three times (in-between hotlinks). The food is excellent (easily gourmet quality). We'll certainly be back. ~ Keith & Brenda Bell
We have found the B&B to complete our TOP 3 list! The rail car was really neat, but NEXT time, we will stay in the main house, just for the experience. The remarks by other guests are right on target. Delicious, every bite. Plus, we felt like friends, invited for a quiet dinner. Then, this morning Clark made a scrumptious breakfast and still took time to visit! What a great spot! ~ Scott & Linda Day
My recent stay at the Carson house was very enjoyable. The room was neat and comfrotable. Clark and his staff were very accomodating to my unusual arrival and departure times. The best part by far was the food. Everything is delicious. The garlic bread is out of this world. Order any dish that comes with it. ~ Ray Knapp
The Carson House was just what we needed. A few nights away from home, with a comfortable place to stay, Wonderful Food, and a relaxing experience. We really appreciate the hospitality. My first visit to Pittsburg, TX was for business. We had lunch at The Carson House Inn & Grille and I was so impressed with the food and hospitality, we requested two rooms. The house was inviting, the rooms were comfortable, and the food was excellent. I encourage government employees on official business to check them out! You won't be disappointed. ~ Denise
We stayed two nights in mid-October in Mrs B's Cottage. The room was excellent. The breakfasts were outstanding (our favorite was the whole-grain French Toast). Dinner at The Grille was so good that we ate there both nights! ~ Chris & June Watson
The Carson House is a terrific place to relax, have some great food and great wine in a unique, slowed down, unpretentious atmosphere and inside a large, beautiful house/inn/restaurant. Of course it is a great place to go for special occasions, but it'd be even better to just drop in regularly if you're in the area! The people are great as well! I'll be there often! We went to Pittsburg for our family reunion, we found a blessing. When so many things steel away our days, it was wonderful to step back in time in the atmosphere of the Carson House. We spent hours on the porch talking and dreaming the way we use to. It was a blessing to come home from a trip actually refreshed and relaxed, reminded of the dreams we share. The camp room was home away from home. Clark is a wonderful cook, breakfast was terrific, I recommend an omelette, they are great! See you next year when we return for our family reunion. Each year we visit Pittsburg , TX for our annual family reunion. I found the Carson House on line. Staying at the Carson House made our mini vacation wonderful. Mrs. B's Cottage was a home away from Home. So comfy and Cozy. The service was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitley be back next year for our Reunion and our visit to the Carson House. ~ Andrea
Hey We all really enjoyed our stay at the Carson House this week. We are travel a great deal and typically stay at The Marriott properties, so we were sorta blown away by the fact that Pittsburg had no Marriott. We were all pleasantly surprised to find that not only were the accommodations better than the Marriott, but that the atmosphere and home like feel of The Carson House were superior to The Marriott. I felt like we were part of your family and we all belonged there. It was a very nice and relaxing experience. The only thing we need to do different next time is figure out how to spend more time at The Carson House and less time working. Thanks for everything. You and The Carson House made our trip to Pittsburg "A Time To Remember" We all hope to be sent your way again. Thanks ~ Cheryl Harvey

The Carson House is a wonderful place to visit and celebrate a special occasion. The rooms are all unique and well furnished. The staff is very gracious and the owners are to be praised. We can't say enough good about the Carson House. We plan to return many times in the future and would recommend it to everyone. As many others have said I must agree the Carson House was like home. My husband and I went fishing on Welch Lake and caught some amazing bass!. But after a long day of rain and sun we came home (the Carson House) and handed the fish still live to Brian the Chef. The staff cleaned and prepared us an amazing dinner that complimented the end of our day in a way that I can not express. It was simply amazing. A person could trully get used to the way they spoil. Thanks for such a memorable stay and we look forward to seeing everyone again. ~ Sylvia
The Carson House is my Cheer's. It's the place where everyone knows your name. You feel like family, the atmosphere is great, and the food is second to none. I recently visited Las Vegas , and couldn't help but compare their $40+ dinning to Carson Houses $10+; Carson House won hands down. ~ Kerry

Anthony and I had a wonderful time staying at the Carson House on Dec 28 and 29. This was Anthony's first stay at a "B&B". We had an excellent time at dinner our first night. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing! Our room was very comfortable too.
I know Anthony had especially loved the breakfasts....the morning after we got home, he asked if he could have his belgium waffles and apple juice again!

The difference is simple - The Carson House is Home. A motel, well, is still a motel. The start of my daily work grind was lightened considerably by coming downstairs to a custom made breakfast, and, in the evening after a workout at the local gym, coming Home (My Carson House Home), ordering dinner as I came in the door, showering up, and having dinner brought to my room if I desired. In May of 2004 and I begin a wonderful new experience. I relocated to Pittsburg , Tx after living in downtown Dallas for 6 years. Left my family and brought my two city dogs and cat to the country to go to work for Pilgrims Pride. I was worried that finding temporary living with the animals might be difficult. I shouldn't have worried. I lived in the rail car at the Carson House for 6 weeks. Clark and his staff became family. They waited on me hand and foot, helped with the animals and went out of their way to introduce me to townfolk. When I left to move into my "new" old home, they continued to help. Some working part-time to get my place in order, some recommending workmen, and today they continue to welcome me for lunch or dinner as if I were the prodigal daughter coming home. Of course, I am never gone long enough for them to miss me. The food is incredible! Breakfast was a particular joy and when I want to splurge I call Clark to see if I can come for breakfast. Whenever, I am feeling down, I just go "home" to the Carson House. All of that being said, you don't have to "live" there to experience this hospitality. Just come for the weekend. They will never forget you, and always have a smile welcoming you home as well. ~ Sharon
have not been able to find words that can express my gratitude to Clark and the family of the Carson House. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to stay at the Carson House when I relocated to the area. I "lived" there for over a month and I truly felt at home. When I first moved to the area I became very ill and the staff took very good care of me. They are very friendly and went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that my stay was safe and comfortable. Clark and his staff spoiled me and both Clark and Brian make an AMAZING breakfast!! I definantly refer my friends and co-workers to stay at the Carson House because you have not experienced the East Texas Hospitality until you experience the Carson House. Clark and Staff, thank you so much for your hospitality. I miss staying at the Carson House and look forward to staying in the future!! ~ Connie
Clark , I can't tell you how much Bob and I enjoyed staying at the Carson on Saturday, June 18. Your place is so warm and unique. We just felt like we were in someone's home and especially liked the Prayer Card in our room. It is so nice to be in a Christian atmosphere. The dinner Saturday evening was superb. The food was just wonderful and the service couldn't have been any better. I must say, Clark that you cook an outstanding breakfast too. We will certainly be back for a couple nights in the fall, hopefully to enjoy the leaves and we have already recommended your place to several of our friends. We enjoyed talking with Brian on Sunday morning while we ate breakfast. He was very cordial and friendly - he is definitely a "keeper". Thanks again for a wonderful stay. If you are coming out to the Pittsburg/Mt. Pleasant area, you MUST stay at the Carson House. It is a beautiful house with a WONDERFUL staff. I have never felt more at home when I have been out of town. Thanks to the staff at The Carson House for making my stay so memorable. ~ Teresa
